Rosa Hyde was captured by music’s allure at 8 years old when she first heard Billie Holiday classic God Bless the Child. Self-taught in the art of Jazz vocals, she is a blend of the jazz structure, a neo-soul feeling and Belizean sass and draws her influences from Nancy Wilson, Carmen McRae and Bob Marley. She has appeared in clubs such as Lenox Lounge, Cleopatra’s Needle, Smoke, Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola and the Key Club in Newark, NJ.
Jazz is the doorway to my truth.
