Ann Osmond is a singer and actor with roots in the theatre and Dennis Yerry is an accomplished jazz pianist and composer. Their compelling arrangements of jazz standards, The Great American Songbook and more – and a vocal blend that is a rare treat – add up to a signature sound that brings fresh energy to much-loved songs.
The duo, formed two years ago, has built an enthusiastic following, performing to sell-out crowds throughout the Hudson Valley. They made their NYC debut at the Metropolitan Room earlier this year. They were featured guests on WAMC’s “Dancing on the Air”, whose broadcast audience includes much of the Northeast. They also receive radio airplay on The Penthouse Radio (The Cosmopolitan Sounds of NY), WVOX, WPAT, WKZE, WIOX and WGXC. Their debut CD, “Optimistic Voices”, was released earlier this year.
Their next NYC area appearance is on Saturday, December 15th at 1pm at the Metropolitan Room (34 W. 22nd St., NYC). “Optimistic Voices…through thick and through thin” celebrates the indomitable human spirit as it searches for love and meaning along the bumpy road of life. From Gershwin to Sondheim to Jobim to Stevie Wonder, their eclectic program includes music spanning many decades and styles.
