Deb Berman

Deb Berman began her vocal career in her early twenties fronting wedding bands, jazz trios, and a 16-piece big band in the New York area.

Ms. Berman also possessed a passion for the music industry and started her corporate career holding several positions at Warner Brothers Records, Chappell Music Publishing and A&M Records culminating her 25-year profession as VP of Merchandising for Sony Music Entertainment.

With a marriage, child, and full-time career, “the singer” was placed “on hold” indefinitely. In 2006, some unexpected life changes presented Deb with the opportunity to reignite her initial dream so she musically picked up where she left off many years ago.

Since then, Deb has resumed honing her craft participating in several Performance Workshops including studying with Stella Adler Studios, actress/singer, Lenore Stefanik and vocalists Madeline Eastman, Lina Koutrakos and the legendary Marilyn Maye.

In 2008, Deb debuted her show, Such A Lot Of Livin at the Metropolitan Room and was the recipient of the prestigious BISTRO AWARD for “Outstanding Debut”. The show was directed by Lina Koutrakos, with musical direction by Barry Levitt.

This past year, Deb has performed her new show aptly named All In Good Time at The Metropolitan Room and Don’t Tell Mama. This time around, she chose to work with Windham Hill Recording Artist/Guitarist, Sean Harkness as her Music Director/Accompanist with Susan Winter directing (Susan is a 2008 Bistro Award recipient for Vocalist and 2010 MAC Award Winner for Best Recording). For this show, Deb is thrilled to be one of five officially nominated singers for the 2011 *MAC Female Vocalist Award. (*Manhattan Association of Cabaret & Clubs)
