Liz McCartney last appeared on Broadway in the revival of Annie, other Broadway credits include The Phantom Of The Opera (Carlotta), South Pacific (Lt. Marshall), MAMMA MIA (Rosie), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Miss Flannery) and Les Miserables (Madame Thenardier) . She created the roles of Sue Tilley in the Boy George musical TABOO and Rebecca in The Dance Of The Vampires. She recently toured with Cinderella as Marie/Fairy Godmother and she has toured toured with WICKED as Madame Morrible and The Little Mermaid as Ursula.
Liz received a Jefferson nomination for her portrayal of Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd at the Drury Lane Theater in Chicago. She was part of the City Center’s ‘Off Center’ production of God Bless You Mr. Rosewater and the City Center Gala production of Sunday In The Park With George starring Jake Gyllenhaal. Regionally, she won critical acclaim for her portrayal of Florence Foster Jenkins in Souvenir, the Witch in Into The Woods and Ruth in PIRATES! Liz received a Backstage Bistro Award for her show Rosemary And Time: A Musical Biography of Rosemary Clooney, and two best supporting actress awards for the New York Musical Theater Festival. As a composer and writer, she produced an evening of her work at The Laurie Beechman Theater and she is currently writing a sitcom entitled What the ? Liz has appeared on TV, film, different cabarets in New York and at sea, and she can be heard on a several cast albums.
