Sahirah Johnson attended Newark’s Arts High School and Howard University. She has been professionally recording since the age of 15. While on the National tour of “Rent”, she taught “Master Classes” in Alaska, Detroit, Washington DC, and Canada. Additional credits include; The Secret Garden, Seussical, A Midnight Cry (Growing Stage), Dreamgirls, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Ain’t Misbehavin and For Colored Girls (Newark’s Symphony Hall). Sahirah was the founding Drama teacher at Newark Collegiate Academy and she is currently the Performing Arts Teacher at Link Community School in Newark, NJ and the Musical Theatre teacher at Playwright’s Theatre in Madison, NJ.
