SUE MATSUKI is a 2020 Bistro Award Winner for Outstanding Collaboration for her 25th year with her Musical Director, Gregory Toroian, a 2020 MAC Nominee for Major Female Vocalist.10-time MAC Award Nominee and a 3 time MAC Award recipient (in 6 different categories). Her “wins” were for: Female Jazz Vocalist; Special Productions for 10 Years in the Making and for Specialty Song, “One Stop Shopping” by Matsuki/Toroian/Page. The other nominated categories were: Duo/Group; Female Vocalist; and Recording. She was the first Julie Wilson Award Recipient given by the Mabel Mercer Foundation. Sue has played every NYC Cabaret room including Feinstein’s, Metropolitan Room, Arci’s Place, Town Hall, The Algonquin, 54 Below, Don’t Tell Mama, 88’s, and The Duplex and legendary jazz clubs: The Village Gate, Birdland, The Iridium and Sweet Rhythm. Her debut CD, A New Take was voted as one of 2007’s “Top 10 CDs of All Time”! Her original song, “A Christmas Angel”, written with Musical Director Paul Stephan, is featured on folk singer, Christine Lavin’s Just One Angel CD. Sue is also a reviewer, producer, teacher, host and songwriter.
